The importance of service compatibility among handsets

The world of mobile content is incredibly fragmented.

Service and content providers need to cater for a very diverse ecosystem -6,300 handset models, 20+ operating systems, 20+ mobile browsers operating in nearly 700 mobile networks. It’s a confusing picture and it’s an increasing challenge to understand and optimise content and services for such a fragmented audience.

That’s where an effective analytics platform comes in, it can teach you a lot about your users’ behaviour, preferences and problems.

One of the more important tasks that our CEM4Mobile analytics software is called upon to perform is identifying service compatibility and tell tale trends among handsets.  With such a diverse audience and variety of competing demands understauing the compatability between a service and a hendset can be the difference between a successful service roll out and an expensive failure.

Here’s a screen shot of some analysis we did for a customer and some ideas of what can be learnt.
